Commenting & Content Submission Policy

Sharing thoughts and opinions with your neighbors is an important way to connect and be a valuable part of the community. The OnlyKentlands.com is deliberately planned to be as simple and straightforward as possible.  It is detailed below.  By commenting, sharing, submitting, and/or linking to OnlyKentlands.com, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions.

Commenting under a pseudonym and/or posting as a "Guest" is allowed on our site; however, we are enforcing a strict policy of "be a good neighbor."  It is always in effect.  You can feel free to disagree with me or any other reader, so long as any comments you wish to write would be similar to something that you would be willing to say to a neighbor, face to face, in person.  If your tone, language, links, images, or shared content is offensive, or if you are simply being a bully and engaging in ad hominem attacks, your comments may be removed and you may be permanently blocked from commenting. As a rule of thumb, just be respectful and act neighborly.  Note, the platform we use for content syndication and publishing automatically closes commentary after 90 days from the date of an original post.  Feel free to contact us directly with comments on older articles. 

Caution:  You may be held legally liable for the contents of your submissions if they contain defamatory, harassing or threatening content. You agree and acknowledge that OnlyKentlands.com may preserve any comments or content you submit and may disclose comments or content if required to do so by law enforcement or in the good faith belief that any such preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with legal process, respond to claims that any comment or content violates the rights of third parties or protect the rights, property or personal safety of OnlyKentlands.com, its users and the public. OnlyKentlands.com, its editors, writers and support staff are not responsible for the content of any user supplied content or comment.

OnlyKentlands.com allows users to register with the site via a site-created newsletter, and this functionality solicits visitors for personally identifiable contact information.  This information is used to contact the user and to send the newsletters.  You may unsubscribe at any time. Registration information will not be distributed or sold to any third party. n any other fashion.

Community Calendar

The Calendar is meant to provide visitors an easy way to find and submit local events happening in the Kentlands.  To submit an event, please use the event submission form and we may add it for you.  The calendar is available for any resident, business, or frequent visitor to the Kentlands to promote an event (or series of events) that benefit residents of the Kentlands. Events must be open to the public, must occur within the local neighborhood and must be for the benefit of area residents. No personal events. Businesses may submit events. Inclusion in the calendar is up to the discretion of the OnlyKentlands.com team. 

Sponsor Advertisements & Content

OnlyKentlands.com may or may not features sponsored advertisements, articles, and content from local organizations, real estate agents and other businesses that we feel will be of value to the Kentlands community. These ads serve two functions: 1) they help organizations connect with Kentlands residents and 2) they help to cover the costs of hosting the site and running OnlyKentlands.com.  OnlyKentlands.com reserves the right to write about local businesses, restaurants, or organizations with or without sponsorships and we will routinely post reviews, introductions, and follow-ups on such places --- both good or bad.  Any sponsored content will be transparently noted as such. To avoid any potential conflicts of interests, we will always be transparent regarding sponsorship.  A sponsorship doesn’t come with any guarantee that the OnlyKentlands.com team won’t publish articles that might otherwise be unpleasant or undesirable to a sponsor, government official, neighbor or anyone we happen to genuinely like or dislike. Organizations should only sponsor OnlyKentlands.com if they want to promote themselves to a wide yet local audience and show themselves supportive of a popular neighborhood media outlet. Sponsors do not receive any editorial control.

From time to time, some links on this site may refer users to Amazon.com, Apple's iTunes Store, and/or other store and vendor links. OnlyKentlands.com may be monetarily compensated if you click an affiliate link, and then proceed to purchase a product or service. Please do feel free to click on any/all such links and proceed to purchase those goods and/or services in copious quantities.
